Audition Information
What to Prepare
These are the instructions for what to prepare for auditions.

In-Person Auditions
In-person auditions are strongly preferred. Auditioning in person gives the directing team an opportunity to work with you and provides the best opportunity for us to evaluate your performance.
When completing the audition form, select an available audition time. Please arrive approximately 10–15 minutes before your scheduled time and be prepared to remain beyond your scheduled audition time if necessary.
Video Auditions
Video auditions are only intended for students who genuinely cannot attend an in-person audition.
If you are unable to attend the scheduled auditions, please contact the director directly before selecting Video Submission on the audition form. Whenever possible, we will first try to arrange an alternate time for you to audition in person.
If an alternate in-person audition cannot reasonably be scheduled, the director will provide you with further instructions for submitting a video audition.
Please do not submit a video audition without first contacting the director.
Roles & Casting
Casting decisions are based on the needs of the production and the overall strength and balance of the cast. Indicating interest in a particular role does not guarantee that you will be cast in that role.
On the audition form, you may select all roles that interest you. You will also be asked whether you are willing to accept a different role if you are not cast in one of your selections.
Please approach auditions with an open mind. The directing team may consider you for roles other than those you initially selected.

Audition Photo Guidelines
You do not need a professional headshot. The purpose of the audition photo is simply to provide the directing team with a clear, current photograph that helps us identify you during the casting process.
For the best results:

Use a recent photo that clearly looks like you.

Take the photo from approximately the chest or shoulders up.

Face the camera directly and make sure your entire face is clearly visible.

Use good, even lighting. Natural light from a window often works very well.

Use a plain or uncluttered background whenever possible.
-
Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, costume, or anything else that obscures your face.

Avoid filters, heavy photo editing, or portrait effects that significantly change your appearance.

A normal, natural expression or smile is perfectly appropriate.

A photo taken with a smartphone is absolutely fine.
This is not a photography contest. We are simply looking for a clear, recognizable photo of you. A well-lit smartphone photo taken against a plain wall is perfectly acceptable.
Rehearsals & Attendance
Being cast in a production is a significant commitment to your fellow cast members and the production team. Before auditioning, please carefully consider your availability throughout the rehearsal and performance period.
Not every cast member will be called to every rehearsal. Rehearsal schedules will be created based on the scenes being worked and the actors needed. However, when you are called to a rehearsal, you are expected to attend and arrive on time.

Conflicts & Availability
Please list all known conflicts on your audition form, including school activities, sports, work, family commitments, vacations, appointments, and any other dates or times when you will be unavailable.
We understand that students have other commitments, and having conflicts does not necessarily prevent you from being cast. However, the directing team needs an accurate picture of your availability when making casting decisions and developing the rehearsal schedule.
Please be as complete as possible. Additional conflicts disclosed after casting may be difficult to accommodate.
Required Dates
Tech Week, dress rehearsals, and all performances are mandatory.
Cast members are expected to be available for all required rehearsals and performances listed in the Important Dates section above. If you have an unavoidable conflict with any of these dates, you must disclose it on your audition form.
Before You Begin
Please take a few minutes to review the information on this page before beginning your audition form. Having the following information ready will make the process much easier.
Please have ready:

Information about your previous theatre or performance experience

Submitting a video audition? Please contact the director before completing the form. Video submissions are intended only for students who cannot reasonably attend an in-person audition, and additional instructions will be provided by the director.
